Goal. /ɡōl/. noun.
“the object of a person’s ambition or effort; an aim or desired result.”
As a part of trying to make 2016 the year of honesty, saving and ultimately travel I knew that I needed to make goals. Or a least a list with the aim as to why I wanted this year, out of all the the other years to be magical for me… but will also allow me to be comfortable with the idea that it might not go as planned and that it is ok.
When I decided what this year was going to be for me, it was quick, it was rash and not well thought out. Which, for me isn’t normal as I am the type to plan and search for perfection in something it simply cannot exist in like, life. But something in me whispered that I would find my kind of perfection in this year. After jumping around in excitement once my partner hit the publish button on my first blog post and dancing on the table to my new single ” Yea, I Did It”, I sat down and made a goals list.
Asa’s 2016 Goals
1. Drink more water.
2. Personal Time.
I figured that the more simple the better. With more room for interpretation and little room for the social construct of “failure”. I realized I needed a list to look back on but also to give me flexibility to save myself from unhealthy guilt.
So, in my simple goals, I will track them day by day, week by week and month by month. Here, with you guys. The only goal that doesn’t appear on the list is one that I acknowledge as a lifetime goal. The ultimate goal is to find happiness in every corner I can and to remember it.
I encourage you all to do the same.
